THOMASVILLE- Ester L. Gwi​nn, 75 of Arthur Drive, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Ester Louise Gwinn was born on September 29, 1939 to Mae Lillie Sturdivant and Walter Hunter in Anson County, North Carolina.

Ester received her formal education at Deep Creek School System in Wadesboro, North Carolina.

Ester accepted Christ as her Savior at Cedar Creek Baptist Church at an early age and was united with Friendship Baptist Church. She was employed by TFI Plant C for thirty-two years and a homecare aide for ten years; she was retired but wouldn't sit down. Everybody that knew her knew of this becuase she loved to socialize, travel, shop, cook, church, and spend time with her family. Ester was a member of the Red Hat Society Nursing Board, Pastor Aide and served on the Gospel Choir and Senior Choir. She was a part of the dominos club and much more.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; grandmother, Mary Sturdivant; aunt, Minnie Lee Sturdivant and granddaughter, Tajuand Little and many more loved ones.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Linda Little Dillard (Eric), Rosie Marie Jenkins (Edwards) and granddaughter, Tiffany Little of whom she reared. Six stepsisters, Julienne Hunter, Elizabeth Cameron, Sabrina Hunter, Michelle Hunter, Tracey Hunter and Stephanie Hunter; three step brothers, Curtis Hunter, Braxton Hunter and Michael Hunter. She also reared her siblings, Joehart Sturdivant, Charles Sturdivant, Mary Wright, Heny Sturdivant, Larry Sturdivant, Ruth Parsons and Brenda Horne; grandchilden, Derrick Little, Latonya Jenkins, Jessie Jenkins, Ayofemi Jefferies, Nakeesha Jenkins, Channy Jenkins, Darenique Jenkins, Demaris Jenkins, Jasmine Jenkins, Kendra Jenkins, Tanasia & Shanasisa Jenkins; twenty-four great grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren and a dedicated friend, James Billie and two special friends just to name a few, Lucinda Cook and Cornelia Broadway that held a special place in her heart. She will truly be missed by us all.
